Dr. Silverstein became interested in pursuing a career in the health care field at the age of 18 when, after reading a book on nutrition, he realized the enormous impact that what diet has on health, mental focus and energy. Chiropractic was a natural choice, since he had been receiving regular adjustments since childhood to maintain optimal health. He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1980 and opened Northern Lights Chiropractic that same year.
Dr. Silverstein has spent the last 40 years professionally working with tens of thousands of people spanning multiple continents, with a primary focus on quality of life and maximizing longevity. His work has helped people release their innate internal potential to maximize freedom of motion and vitality, while educating them to realize their potential for greater health and longevity.
Dr Silverstein got involved with Spinal Decompression in 2007 when he started to see people come into his office at an earlier age and more frequently with advanced spinal degeneration including bulging and herniated discs. An expert at reading spinal X-Rays he came to the conclusion that all spinal injuries whether small or large, when coupled with ever-increasing amounts of physical, chemical and emotional stress over time cause disc disease. Recognizing the poor percentage of surgical success, (less than 35% according to Mayo Clinic) and experiencing hundreds of people coming into his office for help after failed back and neck surgery he had to find an alternative solution. The research was clear and evident that spinal discs can regenerate and heal.
Dr. Silverstein engaged in a relationship/partnership with Dr. Alan Dyer who invented spinal decompression. From this relationship Dr. Silverstein along with his wife, Dr. Becky Kesmiri started the Spinal Disc Regeneration Center in Watertown NY and has helped over a thousand people avoid surgery and live a higher quality of life.
